“It’s a fruit and veggie day. Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, all vegetables from the soil bed”. The Kindergarten section in MGNPS on 18th Sep 2020 and Std 1 in MGMS on 9th Sep 2020 had a virtual fruit and veggie day fiesta. This virtual celebration is done to create and educate children about the importance and consumption of fruits and vegetables in regular diet to improve their physical health. Teachers dressed up as fruits and veggies enacted a play, the tiny tots had one vegetable in their hand for the online class and the teacher explained about the colours, names, uses, how they improve the immune system, growth and what can be eaten raw and which cannot. Teacher prepared vegetable salad live in the class. The children also participated in the riddles and identified fruits and vegetables. A vegetable rhyme was also played for the children. Both the teacher and children were excited and enjoyed the day to the fullest.
